Troy's award-winning chocolate chip cookies<< Back to list

cupbrown sugar
cupgranulated sugar
1tspbaking soda
2tbspwarm water
1bag of chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Beat butter and sugars together until you don't hear the sugar scraping against the side of the bowl anymore. This step is very important to the texture of the finished cookie. Add eggs and vanilla and beat together.
  3. Mix dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Add half of the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture and mix. Add the water. Mix. Add the rest of the dry ingredients. Mix.
  4. Finally add the chocolate chips.
  5. Roll into 1Tb sized balls and place on a cookie sheet. Cook for 11 minutes and 30 seconds, or until the outside, bottom edge of the cookie just starts to brown. Remove from oven, but leave cookies to bake on the sheet for 90 seconds more before removing to a cooling rack.

  • Troy does all of his mixing with a wooden spoon. He also always triples the recipe and uses one bag of white, one of milk, and one of semi-sweet chocolate chips. I actually only use only half a bag of chocolate chips, because I like it better that way. Troy's advice on award winning cookies is, "Love is made one cookie at a time."
