Ingredients
green plantains
oil
salt
Directions Peel and cut green plantains into 2" segments. Deep fry in oil for a minute; remove and use the bottom of a glass or mug to squash the plaintain vertically until 1/4" thick. Deep fry again until golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle salt to taste.

Green plantains contain a lot of starch, making this traditional Central American dish taste more like fries than bananas
