Ingredients
cupshortening
1cupsugar
1egg
cupmolasses
2tspbaking soda
2cupsflour
1tspcinnamon
1tspcloves
5tspground ginger
Directions
  1. Cream shortening with sugar. Add egg & molasses; beat well. Mix in remaining ingredients.
  2. Shape into small balls and roll in some additional sugar, then place on baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 375F for 10-12 min.

  • Warm them in the microwave for 10 sec. for not-so-snappy gingersnaps.
