4Chinese mushrooms
2lbschicken drumsticks & thighs
cupsoy sauce
star anise or 5-spice powder
2medium carrots, cut in large pieces
2-3green onions, sliced
  1. Soak Chinese mushrooms in water for 30 min.
  2. Brown chicken pieces in a saucepan. Add enough water to barely cover the chicken, then add soy sauce, mushrooms, carrots, & green onion.
  3. Bring to boil, simmer for 35-45 minutes or until juices run clear.
