Christmas, Cookie
Ingredients
cupshortening
cupbutter
cupbrown sugar, firmly packed
2egg yolks
1tspvanilla
2cupsflour
1egg white
1cuppecans, finely chopped
jam
Directions
  1. Mix shortening, butter, brown sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla thoroughly. Stir in flour and salt.
  2. Roll into 1" balls. Dip in egg whites and roll in pecans. Place on ungreased baking sheet and press thumb into center of each. Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes.
  3. When cool, place jam in the middle of each cookie.
